Promoting Wellness in Menopause through Dance/Movement

MenoMove is a pilot arts-in-health programme that supports individuals experiencing menopause and perimenopause. Through movement-based sessions, MenoMove explores physical activity to increase vitality, build solidarity and community and cultivate coping skills for managing symptoms during menopause.
Led by an experienced dance movement therapist with lived experience of perimenopause in consultation with menopause specialists, the programme integrates evidence-based research practice with creative engagement, creating a unique space to dance, play and reflect.
Funded by the Arts Council of Wales in partnership with The Body Hotel, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, and Velindre NHS Trust.

Specialist MenoMove Groups
Call for Participants
Alongside our main MenoMove programme, we are developing two specialist groups designed to create supportive spaces for communities whose experiences of menopause are often overlooked. These groups will begin as soon as we have enough participants registered, so we warmly invite you to register your interest.
Each group will combine gentle, creative movement with opportunities to share and reflect in ways that feel comfortable for you. No dance experience is needed — just openness and curiosity.
🌈 MenoMove for Trans & Non-Binary People
This group offers a safe and affirming space for trans men and non-binary people to explore their experiences of menopause. Facilitated by Dr Thania Acarón, an LGBTQ+ dance movement therapist with experience leading workshops for the trans community, the sessions invite participants to move, reflect, and share their unique perspectives in a welcoming environment.
🎗️ MenoMove for People Experiencing Cancer-Related Menopause
Menopause following cancer treatment can happen at any age and often feels like an overlooked part of care. This group provides space to explore and share these unique experiences, supporting wellbeing during a life transition that may feel largely outside of your control. Sessions will focus on gentle movement, creative self-care, and learning together in a compassionate community.

Self-Care Saturdays are back!
Join us for our in-person, self-care workshop intensives – a supportive space to move, reflect, and connect with others. These extended Saturday sessions are ideal if you're looking for deeper exploration in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We will deepen our movement practice and treat ourselves to checking out from daily life and checking into our bodies.
You will learn more about dance/movement as a tool for our wellbeing, and reflect on how we can nurture and replenish ourselves, enjoy connecting with others in person, and re-engage with play and creativity.
