The Body Hotel was created in 2020 and provides wellbeing services through the arts for the NHS, community organisations and international charities. We initially only focused on dance/movement for wellbeing, but are starting new collaborations with arts therapists and arts, health and wellbeing practitioners across Wales. The arts therapies combine drama, dance/movement, art and music with psychotherapy techniques to support people of all ages and abilities. Arts, health & wellbeing projects help decrease the stigma of mental health services. At The Body Hotel, our services are designed with diversity, equality and inclusion at their heart, with a particular focus on creating safe, nurturing environments that are multicultural and LGBTQ+ affirmative .
We are ready to scale up but we need your help to do it! We have found some premises where we would love to offer in-person services, private session hire for arts therapies and serve as an arts community mental health hub.
Our goal

To create a community of arts therapists and arts health & wellbeing practitioners harboured under one roof and offer space to community organisations in Wales.
We have identified a space that we'd like to try and get, and these premises would have:

Telehealth/supervision space for clients to conduct sessions with privacy

Access to a rooftop where we could build a community garden (long term plan)
The space will have the capacity to hold 36 sessions a week and serve up to 100-200 clients per week, with expansion capacity. Safe spaces which focus for LGBTQ+ people are rare in Cardiff and in Wales. The community organisations we work with have been and continue to be a key consultant into the design of the space and shaping the delivery of the services.
We have begun crowdfunding efforts to acquire the space. We have a bit of savings, but need £70,000 to cover the building deposit and improvements such as flooring, divisions and insulation for privacy. How you can help?
The Body Hotel Studios is an innovative and unique concept. Our goal is to provide a safe, multicultural space in which arts, health and wellbeing offerings are accessible. All services of the company uphold strong values of equality, diversity and inclusion, are LGBTQ+ affirmative and trans-inclusive. Its special focus on being LGBTQ+ affirmative makes it particularly important, as such spaces are rare in Cardiff and Wales. To help the Body Hotel obtain this space is to contribute to improving quality of life for communities and helping decrease the stigma of mental health and contribute to the amazing work done by community organisations.

This is an open link for you to make a donation of any amount which will help support our day to day work. You will get some awesome perks which include sessions, resources and some movement thank-yous! All donations will be towards the deposit for purchasing the centre. You can help make this hub a dream come true! We are also creating a pay-it-forward scheme to fund arts therapy sessions for people who are unable to access these services.

The space will have two art therapy /visual art for wellbeing spaces with a nearby sink. We will work closely with arts therapists and arts, health & wellbeing practitioners to make this space welcoming and suitable for the work. By pre-buying your space for the year, you can help us meet our deposit goal, and also get cool perks! ​
£5000 will guarantee your space for 1 day a week for a year when we get the space, which is a discount of 20%! You save £1250 a year if you pre-buy with us. That's less than £100 per day (£13/hour)! Non-discounted cost is £6250. (See T&Cs or Table below for detailed cost calculations) Spaces are suitable for individual sessions/couples therapy and measure approx 10 sq metres, 100 sq ft

If we don't get the deposit together or the space, we return the money to you.
The space will have a lovely drama/movement studio where you can hold your dance/movement psychotherapy or drama/dance/movement, health & wellbeing sessions. By pre-buying your space for the year, you can help us meet our deposit goal, and get cool perks! ​
It will guarantee your space for 1 day a week for a year when we get the space at 20%! You save £1500 in rental hire if you pre-buy with us - Original cost is £7500. That's less than £120/day - £16/hour which is way under most rental bookings in Cardiff, which go for £25-50£! (See T&Cs and Table below) Space is approximately 40 sq meters/ 430 sq ft. If you want the space for more than one day, we can chat and see what we can offer.

(Music Monthly Group )
The aim is for the space will have a monthly music therapy or community music wellbeing group. Due to storage constraints for instruments, we wouldn't be able to host weekly sessions, but we want to include music in our offerings. We can offer a 3-hour monthly workshop for you. Our aim is to partner with local music therapy organisations to share resources and collaborate.
This pre-buy would offer a 20% discount on a three hour block for our monthly group held either on Friday or Saturday of each month, with a discounted rate of £60/half day (£20/hour),
